Our Teaching Garden connects students to plants, soils, ecology, and a multitude of other concepts in a hands-on, experiential learning environment.
It helps children discover where their food comes from and form the foundation for making healthier food choices. Our desire is to use this teaching garden to nurture life skills in youth, including responsibility, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Our mission is to provide innovative ministries to impact the lives of youth and families. In His Steps ministries kicked off its first session of summer enrichment on June 7th and concluded it on July 18th. The second session started on July 12th and will conclude on July 23rd.
Our focus is on providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences for students. During the program, students will receive tutoring
assistance in English Language Arts and Mathematics by
Jasmine Thompson and Stephanie Wales. Both teachers are certified and work at local public schools as well as the IHS afterschool S.P.A.S.E. program during the school year.
