INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Our internships provide a great way to gain ministry experience.  These positions are open to recent graduates, as well as 2nd through 4th year students.  Internships give college students and recent graduates hands-on experience with a Christian non-profit organization. In His Steps internship terms range from 1-6 months.

Get Involved
We’d love to have you as part of the IHS community.  Check out the various ways to get involved. In His Steps Ministries offers unpaid and paid internships in Education, Camping, Sports/Recreation, Social Work, and Media intern. We believe that reaching people, students, and parents with the gospel is one of the most strategic ministry callings you could pursue!

Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who are passionate about their faith, called to Christian ministry, and want to work in marginalized communities.

What You’ll Receive
As an In His Steps intern, your practical ministry skills, spiritual formation, and leadership will be further developed.  You’ll receive training in character and spiritual disciplines, racial reconciliation and cross-cultural skills, and more.

Education Interns serve our students through our after-school S.P.A.S.E. program and Summer Enrichment Program which is a non-school hour tutorial, mentoring, and enrichment program. The S.P.A.S.E. Ministry employs a holistic strategy  (Spiritual, Physical, Academic, Social, and Emotional) of ministering to the child in order to ensure success. Education Interns gain experience with teaching and working with students in Canton, Mississippi.

IHS has a new initiative for Social Work interns who are seeking experience in community development, cultural intelligence, and working with vulnerable youth and parents. Social Work interns should have a heart for Christ and compassion for those they serve. Those majoring in sociology, social work, or similar fields will be ideal but not required for this position.

Sports/Recreation Ministry Interns work with local athletes, assist with athletic training, mentorship, and bible devotionals.  Interns gain experience in training and coaching high school football, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, and track and field athletes. The internship can also include working at our Christian summer camps. An ideal candidate for this position has a heart for youth and outdoor recreational activities. We are developing our Agape Campsite and Training Center as a location for summer camps and ministry training. Our campsite is a unique opportunity for local youth since many of them have never had access to a camp-like setting before. Fishing, horseback riding, and archery are just some of the activities that take place at the campsite.

The Media Intern should be someone with excellent photography and videography skills. We are looking for an intern with an eye for detail to capture the exciting memories at IHS. Photos and videos are used for our social media presence, marketing, and public relations, allowing us to share with our partners all over the country what’s happening at In His Steps Ministries.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying to the internship program, please contact Carolyn Bacon, IHS Personnel Director (cbacon@inhissteps.org or 601-859-5708). Reach out to us for more information and details about each position.
