Our SPASE program is in full swing this January, as our 21 students came back from Christmas break ready to grow both academically and spiritually! At the start of this new year, we took portraits of the students to give to our supporters, and they had an absolute BLAST showing off their personalities in their goofy pictures. In this post, you’ll meet 7 of our students, learn about what they enjoy, and hear some of the prayers we have for the individual students.

Age: 7

Kenlei’ is one of the sweetest and sassiest little girls you’ll ever meet. She loves jumping and dancing, and one thing she wants people to know about her is that she’s a fun person to be around!
Prayer: That Kenlei’ would continue to grow in gentleness
Name: Bryson
Age: 8
Favorite Color: Red
Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 49:15
Bryson LOVES playing with trains and computer games, and Thomas and Friends is his favorite show to watch. He thinks he’s awesome and great, and we think he is too!
Prayer: That Bryson would know how capable he is of doing great things through Christ
Name: Jaylan
Age: 7

Jaylan is a super goofy second grader who loves standing up and dancing while he’s doing his homework at In His Steps. He really enjoys running track, and he thinks he can run really fast like Superman. We’ve seen this guy run before, and while he may not be the next Clark Kent, we think he’s going to be hard to catch up to in the future!
Prayer: That Jaylan would be able to focus, both on his homework and the Lord

Clifton is definitely one of our more outgoing students in the SPASE program this year! He enjoys playing Madden (and will talk your ear off about it too) and he really wants people to know that he’s a funny guy.
Prayer: That Clifton will soften his heart toward Jesus this year

David gives hugs to everyone he meets, and he loves playing ninja with his friends! His favorite food is nachos, and his fun fact he likes telling people is that he loves to eat!
Prayer: That David would grow in stature and favor with the Lord
Name: Jayden
Age: 9

Jayden loves playing basketball, football, and his computer games, and he wants people to know he’s an athlete. Just like he takes sports seriously, he also takes his school work seriously and works hard to make the people in his life proud!
Prayer: That Jayden would be a light for Jesus while he is interacting with his sports teams
Name: Demondric
Age: 9

Demondric, or DJ, loves anything football! He likes playing Madden, “real life” football, and karate. He wants to be a preacher when he grows up, and he loves volunteering to pray after devotional every day!
Prayer: That DJ would focus on Jesus rather than on worldly things
